DALLAS NEWS TURNS TO JEFFREY O. ANDERSON ON MARRIAGE DEBATE

With emotionally charged issues, logic and the application of the law can all too often take a backseat to rhetoric.

One of the most divisive issues currently facing Texas is the debate over the recognition of same-sex marriages.

As a U.S. District Judge in San Antonio prepared to hear a challenge of Texas’ constitutional ban on same-sex marriages, Dallas Fox 4 News turned to Orsinger partner Jeffrey Anderson to help explain the issues involved in this groundbreaking lawsuit seeking to require Texas to either legalize same-sex unions in the state or recognize the legality of similar marriages performed in other states.

At the root of the fight, he points out, is a confrontation over “state’s rights against federal rights. The state courts are going to be bucking up against the federal courts to see how far the federal courts want to step into the state’s business.”
