IF I GET MY MARRIAGE ANNULLED THROUGH MY CHURCH, DOES THAT MEAN I’M DIVORCED?

No. An annulment through a religious institution is not a legal divorce.

Under the eyes of the law, you are still married. To dissolve your marriage, you must either get a divorce or a legal annulment. Very few couples are eligible to receive an annulment.  However, in Texas, an annulment may be granted when there has been some legal impediment to a valid marriage, such as one of the parties was underage; one or both of the parties was under the influence of alcohol or narcotics and wasn’t able to consent to the marriage; impotency; fraud, duress or force; mental incapacity; or concealed divorce.
